Assam CM inaugurates a number of projects

Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on his visit to Nagaon on Sunday (June 27), has inaugurated the newly constructed Tourists Recreation Centre, the new building of Rajib Bhawan and Nurul Amin Memorial Auditorium.

ON SUNDAY (June 27), the Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on his visit to Nagaon, inaugurated the newly constructed Tourists Recreation Centre, the new building of Rajib Bhawan and Nurul Amin Memorial Auditorium.

At first, the Chief Minister attended the inaugural programme of the Tourists Recreation Centre under Assam Tourism Development Corporation (ATDC) which is situated on the bank of river Kolong near Nagaon Circuit House. On his visit, he was greeted with Asomiya Japi (traditional headgear), Phulam Gamusa and a wooden rhino as a token of love by Assam Forest and Tourism Minister Rockybul Hussain. The meeting was also graced by Assam Education Minister Gautam Bora, Rajya Sabha MP Nazeen Farooq and other dignitaries.

Rockybul Hussain on his welcome speech paid his heartiest thanks to Assam CM for his visit. He told that Tarun Gogoi led Congress government has already launched different projects for the development of tourism industry. The Tourist Recreation Centre which has been setup will definitely draw attention of the tourists in Nagaon. He believed that the tourists flow will definitely increase. He moreover told that the present government is working for the development of Assam. He criticised the then Prafulla Kumar Mahanta led Assam Gana Parishad government who did not pay any kind of attention for the development of the state.

The Tourists Recreation Centre has been named after the Assam poet Late Naba Kt Barua. Before the inauguration, the Assam CM Tarun Gogoi on his speech said that he felt too happy for the effort of Assam forest and Tourism Minister Rockybul Hussain’s effort for changing and beautifying Nagaon. After the meeting, the Chief Minister along with other guests proceeded for the inauguration of the Tourists Recreation Center. After the inauguration, CM visited the bamboo museum which was inaugurated recently by Union Minister Jairam Ramesh. After the inaugural programme the CM directly went for the next programme at Nagaon Congress office.

At Nagaon Congress office, Tarun Gogoi inaugurated the newly constructed Rajib Bhawan and Nurul Amin Memorial Hall. After the inauguration the CM attended the open meeting in which all the supporters welcomed him with slogans. The senior party workers and the members of NSUI felicitated him with Japi, Sorai and Gamusa. The meeting was presided by Bharat Chandra Bhuyan, the president of Nagaon Zilla Congress Committee. While addressing to the supporters he explained the government’s future plan. He requested the party workers to work more efficiently for the Election of 2011.

He criticised the former Assam CM Prafulla Kumar Mahanta left and right. He explained, what the present congress government is doing for the common people. He alleged that the AGP government did everything for itself , not for the people of Assam. The AGP government had done only few developmental activities in the state. Not only AGP, the Chief Minister also criticised Bharatiya Janata Party and United Democratic Front too on his speech. He even talked about the Line of Control scam of Prafulla Kumar Mahanta. In the meeting he announced for setting up of a technical university and a medical college in Nagaon.
