14 bogies of Assam-bound Rajdhani Express derail in Bihar

Katihar | Tuesday, May 25 : Altogether 14 bogies of the 2424 down Delhi-Guwahati Rajdhani Express derailed in between Navgachhiya and Kharik railway stations under Baruni rail division of East Central Railways (ECR) this morning.

Divisional commercial manager Shikha Tripathi said here that 14 bogies leaving three bogies from the engine derailed. She said no injury had been reported in this accident.

The reason behind the accident was yet to be ascertained.

She said a relief train from Katihar arrived at the accident site for the onward journey of the passengers.

Meanwhile, the district magistrate of Bhagalpur said that the accident may have occured due to the continuous downpour in the district since the past two days. He said a team of local doctors has already reached the spot.
