After 26 years, CM Vigilance Force submits 7 corruption cases

Guwahati, Mar 8 : After 26 years of existence, the Chief Minister Vigilance Force and the CID of Assam police could submit report to the court against just seven officers for misappropriation of government money.

This shocking revelation came to the light when the Assam government informed today that another 12 officers were charge sheeted in four corruption cases which were investigated by the CID of Assam police.

The question was raised by Ramendra Naryan Kalita of AGP. ''This is the efficiency of our departments. In 26 years, seven cases and the department is headed by a police officer of the rank of the Superintendent of Police,'' Mr Kalita charged.
