3 killed, 70 injured in Assam road accidents


Mar 6In Assam, three persons including a child were killed and at least 70 other injured in three separate road accidents in the Barak Valley of the state on Friday. According to police, a father and child were killed on the spot at Shildubi in Cachar district on Friday when the vehicle they were travelling collided head on with another vehicle coming from the opposite side. In the second accident which took place on Friday at Bakharshail in neighboring Karimganj district of the valley an ice cream seller was killed on the spot when a vehicle run over him on national highway 44.

In the third accident, at least 70 people were injured and 20 of them seriously when the bus they were travelling felled into paddy filed as the driver lost control on Friday near Swadhin Bazar under Cachar District.The seriously injured passengers were admitted into Silchar Medical College Hospital.
