Assam Public Works will move to the Supreme Court

GUWAHATI, April 29 : Assam Public Works will move to the Supreme Court against the Election Commission to ensure a clean voters list with cent percent native voters for the 2011 assembly elections.

APW president Abhijit Sharma said they will lodge a complaint against the Election Commission in the Supreme Court for the faults in the voter list.

He further said in all the 126 constituencies in the State, the voters lists bear the names of many people who are not the original citizens of the country.

He condemned the Election Commission for these and said Assam Public Works will do their best to clean the voters list. All the necessary evidence will be proved to the Supreme Court, said Sharma.

He also said Army should be employed to check the infiltration problem in the State.
