Three minors drown in Assam

Tezpur (Assam): Three minor children drowned in a pond in Sonitpur district of Assam today, official sources said.

Four girls had gone to take bath in the pond at Alisinga near Uriamguri when three of them drowned, the sources said.

The fourth girl, however, managed to swim to safety, the sources said.

The victims have been identified as Rusana Begum (8), Pinku (9) and Nurjahan (12).
