SILCHAR, Aug 11 : In yet another incident of gruesome murder, a Dimasa farmer was killed by unidentified militants in NC Hills. Naga-Dimasa ethnic clashes has been continuing for the last couple of months in the NC Hills.
Sources said one Hafizgao Phonglo (35) was a farmer by profession. He was killed in Semkhor village under Maibong PS yesterday evening. Maibong police confirmed the news today. Sources said, Phonglo along with two of his fellow farmers were returning from the fields when they were attacked by at least 10 militants. The militants were dressed in black and were armed. Phonglo was killed on the spot while the other two fled the scene.
They later informed the police about the incident. Post mortem of Phonglo’s body was done today in Maibong Hospital. Sources hinted that Naga militants were behind the killings.
