Laxmi Orang in her 20s came into the limelight when a section of people got angry after tea tribe students and others went on a rampage at Beltola in Guwahati on November 24, 2007, attacked and stripped her on a street.
Laxmi, who came here to take part in the march to demand Scheduled Tribe status to adivasi and tea tribes, said she had decided to take part in active politics to press the demand of her community to Parliament.
